The Quaqua Society assists home educators around the world to interact, showcase their achievements, receive financial aid, build friendships, obtain career assistance, and help the general public to appreciate the benefits derived from parental and religious rights.
Quaqua is designed to work with existing home-education organizations. We respect and support diverse parental, cultural, pedagogical, geographic, and religious approaches to home education.
The Society encourages civic cooperation to enhance opportunities for future
generations of home educators.
The Quaqua
Society affords a unifying, fair, cooperative, positive forum for the general
home-education community. Our intent is to promote the basic, wholesome ideals
shared by home educators around the world.
We believe
that the home-education community can best advance its interests by reaching
out to others and showcasing its fundamental strength. The fundamental strength
of home education is the great set of opportunities it bestows upon real children,
of many different backgrounds, each and every day. The general public needs
to hear more about the fruits of home education in action.
Enlightened men and women can achieve great progress when they step forward for the common good at a pivotal time. Help build a legacy for the generation of tomorrow by helping the Quaqua Society today.
The Quaqua
Society is a service organization, built by home-education people to help
home-educated students. We value integrity and transparency. We believe in
looking beyond one's own circle of immediate self-interest.
The institutional
concept of Quaqua was developed on the basis of extensive, multi-faceted research.
Diverse home educators and community leaders enthusiastically contributed
insights about how the Quaqua Society could best be of service. We share the
unique insights of home educators with the world.
Individuals with no previous exposure to home education are welcome to participate at all levels of the Society. Quaqua encourages respectful relationships with those who do not share the ideas or values expressed in our by-laws.
Throughout history, graduates of home education have been creative, cutting-edge achievers. Home educators are directly responsible for many of the world's top-tier accomplishments in science, art, medicine, law, engineering, civics, communication, exploration, agriculture, business, and other pursuits.
Home-educators
consistently perform above the norm. We often do so despite legal obstacles
and scant financial resources. Home-education graduates can hold their own
against students of any other educational background, anywhere in the world.
The Quaqua
Society is unapologetic in its call for objective excellence. Quaqua searches
out and recognizes the best home students, regardless of their demographic
characteristics. We extend aid to promising home students who are willing
to work hard, rise above their circumstances, and make their dreams come true.
The Society expects its awards recipients to be possessed of a record of achievement that will be regarded as worthy of praise by a fair-minded person of any background. We encourage home educators to strive for continuous improvement in all endeavors they choose to pursue.
